Why I Created This Course
Sometimes the best ideas don't come from careful planning they happen when you're simply trying to solve a problem.
That's exactly how the Infinity Ponytail Braid was born.
Back in 2012, I had somewhere to be and didn't have time for my full healthy hair routine. There was no time to shampoo, deep condition, blow-dry, silk press, and style. I needed something quick.
I created a sleek ponytail using Eco Styler Krystal Gel, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the hanging portion of the ponytail. I wanted something that gave me some more length, so I reached for a pack of braiding hair.
At the time, I had only recently stepped outside my comfort zone of braiding primarily for weave installations. Occasionally I'd add a little "razzle dazzle" braid to give a style extra personality. This time, I added the braid to my ponytail as a bang, thinking that if nothing else, it would camouflage where my natural hair ended.
I snapped a photo and posted it on Instagram...
...and that's all she wrote.
What started as a last minute solution quickly became one of my signature styles. Since that first experiment in 2012, the Infinity Ponytail Braid has continued to evolve. I've refined the technique behind the chair, updated the educational experience since first teaching it in 2021, and now I'm excited to share the latest version with you inside Sharp Beauty University.
